17" (43 cm). Pressed bisque swivel head on kid- edged bisque shoulder plate, plumply modeled face, richly painted eyes with shaded irises and prominent upper glancing pupils, heavily modeled eyelids, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, blown molded leather poupee body with dowel- jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, some scuffing of body leather. Marks: Poupee Brevete SGDG (body). Comments: Adelaide Huret with deposed leather body of Clement, circa 1865. Value Points: beautifully expressive face with fine painting, rare body, superb antique costume comprising emerald green silk gown with wide bands of ribbon trim, green glass beads bordering the jacket front, bonnet, undergarments, leather shoes, bone-handled parasol with bronze green silk cover and cream silk fringe.
