23" (58 cm). Paper mache shoulder head with black sculpted hair in short sculpted curls, painted dark turquoise eyes, black upper eyeliner, painted upper lashes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with hint of smile, commercial muslin body with stitch- jointing, cinched waist, leather arms, antique calico gown, undergarments, stockings, shoes. Condition: generally excellent, slight typical paint rubs on hair. Marks: Greiner's Improved Patent Heads, Mar. 30,â58 (paper label). Comments: Ludwig Greiner, circa 1865. Value Points: well- preserved early doll with original label, fine detail of stippled curls around the forehead.
