The hand-carved wooden bed with shaped head and footboards, spindled posts rising to support a wooden framed canopy has original red milk painted finish and is decorated with gold rubbed finish at feet, star motif on the bed frame, and unusual smudge decorations in cream, gold and grey around the canopy top. American, Pennsylvania, early 19th century. Excellent condition of the rare American doll furniture.
