Description
11" (28 cm). Solid domed wax over paper mache head with flat-cut neck socket, brown glass sleep eyes that operate from wire at back torso, feathered brows, closed mouth with little smile, blushed cheeks, painted baby hair at sides of head, composition upper and lower torso, wooden lower arms and legs, muslin midriff and upper legs. Condition: generally excellent, some characteristic crazing. Comments: Germany, circa 1860,the taufling baby known as "Motschmann". Value Points: endearing little child has rare lever eyes, taufling style body, wears factory original red woolen dress with bib, cap, undergarment.
