16" (40 cm). Pressed bisque socket head with elongated face and plump cheeks, very large blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecuts, painted lashes, brush stroked brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body with straight wrists, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J (symbol) M. Comments: Mothereau, circa 1882. Value Points: very rare bebe in wonderfully appealing size with most compelling facial modeling enhanced by large beautiful eyes and delicately tinted bisque, original body and body finish.
