Description

20" overall (51 cm). A bisque-headed lady with flat-cut neck socket on bisque shoulder plate has blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, one piece carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, metal hands, mounted on tinplate base that contains mechanism. When wound, the lady glides forward, stops, turns, repeats, alternately lifting lorgnette to face, then the fan, while turning and nodding head; music plays. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism and music function. Comments: attributed to Vichy & Fils, circa 1865. Value Points: elegant presentation with complicated and synchronized movements.
