Description

Each 14" (35 cm). Each has bisque socket head, the boy with solid dome, auburn flocked hair, matching auburn brows and lashes, and brilliant blue/grey eyes, the girl with brunette bobbed wig, short feathered brunette brows and lashes, and blue inset eyes; with slightly-parted accented lips, four tiny teeth, impressed dimples, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 237 Paris 4. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1910,from their art character series, the dolls were presented in these costumes in Paris department store catalogues as "Les Ecoliers" (the schoolchildren). Value Points: pristine store- fresh condition of the superbly modeled dolls with choicest bisque, original wigs, school uniforms, leather accessories and shoes, the boy with school pin, the girl with pink hair and uniform bow.
