Carved wooden shoulder head and torso portraying adult woman of 1880 era, with carved definition of brown hair drawn away from face, carved wooden bonnet that is detachable, black enamel inset eyes, carved and painted facial features and complexion, pierced ears, carved wooden collar, crudely carved wooden legs with dowel jointing, painted shoes, muslin upper arms, wooden hands, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: maker unknown, the carving is stylistically similar to that of carver's of wooden ship figures or tobacconist's figures of mid to late 19th century. Value Points: rare doll with beautifully aged patina to original painted finish.
