Description
24" (61 cm). Pressed bisque socket head, large dark blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, brush stroked brows with feathered detail, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, accented lips, separately modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body, jointed wrists. Condition: generally excellent, body is Jumeau although not as early as head. Marks: 11 (head) Bebe Jumeau Diplome d'Honneur (body). Comments: Jumeau, circa 1880. Value Points: beautiful early portrait model with well detailed sculpting, lovely painting, rich antique ivory silk satin costume and cap.
