
To fit Huret style poupee,16"-17" (40-43 cm). The Scottish style costume of richly woven linen/wool in vibrant blue, red and green colors comprises gown with box-pleated skirt below a fitted waist with detachable belt, and matching cape with self- fringe, each trimmed with narrow bands of black velvet ribbon, along with white chemisette with black velvet ribbon at neckline and cuffs. Included with the ensemble is a matching black velvet Scottish tam edged with velvet plaid ribbon and trimmed with tiny feathers and rosette; and a pair of red kidskin slippers with tiny wooden heels and silk faille lining. The costume was featured in the book, The Trousseau of Blondinette Davranches. Very fine condition. Probably from the house of Huret or Mme. Bereux. Circa 1860.
