Description
10" (25 cm) overall. Standing upon a three- wheeled tin base is a bisque-headed doll with blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms. When wound the girl moves around in circles and waves arms up and down, turns head. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Marks: Vichy Fils Paris. Comments: Circa 1875. Value Points: most appealing little child wears original luxury silk dress and bonnet, holds badminton racquet and feathered birdie in hand, and appears to play badminton when wound.
