16" (40 cm). Shoulder head of adult lady of hardened paper mache with fabric reinforcement and painting-over-gesso finish, oval shaped slightly inclined face, elongated throat, dark brown enamel inset eyes with heavy eyelids, aquiline nose with pierced nostrils, lightly fringed lashes, feathered brows, closed mouth with center accent line, auburn human hair in elaborate coiffure, French kid poupee body with gusset jointing, stitched and separated fingers, nicely costume in antique fabrics. Condition: generally excellent, small nose rub. Comments: mid-19th century. Value Points: very unusual construction of the portrait like lady with wonderful facial features and original finish
