9"h (23 cm) chairs. Each piece has wooden frame with richly gold-leafed finish and neatly turned legs with rounded backs, each upholstered in maroon silk capitonne; the set comprises settee, two arm chairs and two side chairs. One chair has original label "P. Dartout,28,Rue de Paradis, Paris". Excellent condition except frailty to silk. French, circa 1865,an especially appealing petite size.
