Description

17" (43 cm). Pressed bisque shoulder head with plumply shaped face and very full cheeks, heavy eyelids emphasized with black liner, painted blue eyes with darker rims and glazed lower rims, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, unpierced ears, lambs wool wig over cork pate, all-wooden fully articulated body with dowel- jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (original Huret stamp on kid torso cover). Comments: Adelaide Huret, circa 1862. Value Points: the desirable dreamy-eyed Huret look is wonderfully achieved on this doll, wearing original Huret type dress of dotted Swiss with red scalloped edging, undergarments, bonnet, red leather ankle boots.
