Description
13" and 16" (33 and 40 cm). The larger with wax over paper mache head, brown glass sleep eyes that operate from a lever at the back torso, closed mouth, brunette mohair wig; the smaller with wax- over-wooden shoulderhead, very elongated throat, painted blue eyes with eyeliner, lashes, closed mouth, brunette wig. Each with all-wooden body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted shoes. Condition: very good, some paint wear to original body finish on limbs, characteristic wax wear. Comments: circa 1840. Value Points: rare models including wax-over-wooden head and original costume on smaller, lever eyes on larger, rare wooden bodies.
