Fine modeled carton shoulder head and upper torso, solid dome head, elongated oval face with regal upheld pose, strong elongated throat, sloping shoulders, strong chin and nose, large blue glass enamel inset eyes, dot- fringed lashes, fringed brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips, ears pierced into head, original hand-tied human hair wig, kid-stretched-over upper torso with very high waist, flattened shaped bosom with defined nipples, kid torso extends into very elongated slender legs, kid upper arms, wooden hands, with antique silk satin gown having high waist, lace decoration, matching coronet, undergarments, rose satin slippers. Condition: very good, nose tip touch-up, otherwise finish completely original and quite well preserved. Comments: French, circa 1820,with buste de Paris head actually made in France (unlike later French paper mache poupees with German made heads). Value Points: very rare early French doll with compelling presence and superb size.
