28" (71 cm). One piece carved wooden head and shapely torso depicting adult woman with slender- shaped face, elongated throat, defined bosom and waist, brown sculpted hair with well-defined center part drawn behind the sculpted and pierced ears into carved coiled braid at the back of the head, heavily lidded inset enamel eyes, fringed lashes, feathered brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth with serenely set lips, carved wooden arms and legs with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: maker unknown, early 19th century. Value Points: very beautiful large wooden doll with superbly sculpted hair and face, original finish, antique costume.
