Description

27" (68 cm). Paper mache shoulder head, blonde sculpted hair in center part with vertical rows of curls framing either side of the face, painted teal blue eyes with black upper eyeliner and lashes, single-stroke brows, closed mouth with accent line between coral lips, old muslin stitch- jointed body with paper mache hands, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, face complexion a bit faded. Marks: Greiner's Patent Doll Heads, No. 8 Pat. March 30.'58, Ext.'72". Comments: Ludwig Greiner, Philadelphia, circa 1875. Value Points: early doll has well detailed hair and beautiful painted eyes.
