Pressed bisque socket-head, large hand-cut eye sockets, grey glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, very delicately painted lashes and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, accented lips, pierced ears, blonde lambs wool wig-over-cork pate, French composition and wooden body. Condition: generally excellent, body not original to this model, but appropriately sized and Jumeau-made. Marks: Jumeau (incised block letters inside banner). 1 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Jumeau, circa 1878, the rare block letter marking was the first signature bebe made by Jumeau, for one year only. Value Points: very rare early bebe in equally rare tiny size 1, with wonderful presence and bisque, antique costume.
