Description
11" (28 cm). Pressed bisque socket-head, brown
glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading,
painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented
nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale
accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig
over cork pate, French composition and wooden
eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight
wrists, costume included. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 1 EJ (head) Jumeau Medaille
d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Jumeau, circa 1880,
the earliest model of the signed EJ bebe. Value
Points: very rare bebe with beautiful shy
expression, excellent bisque and painting,
original perfect body, in petite size 1; this
size bebe marked EJ is virtually unknown.
