Description
13" (33 cm) seated. Seated upon a brown velvet-
covered box is a bisque-headed man with brown
glass inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered
brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed
mouth with center accent line, pierced ears,
blonde mohair wig over cork pate, carton moule
torso and legs, wire upper arms, pewter hands.
When wound, he plays the violin, turning his head
from side to side, while music plays. Condition:
bisque excellent, mechanism functions. Comments:
attributed to Vichy, circa 1870. Value Points:
appealing luxury toy with fine quality of bisque,
silk jester costume and cap.
