Description
5 1/2" (14 cm). Pale bisque swivel head on kid-
edged elongated bisque torso, cobalt blue glass
enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, lightly
feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth
with pertly shaped lips, blushed cheeks, original
brunette mohair wig, peg-jointed shoulders and
thighs, ball-jointed elbows, bare feet.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bte.
Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. In 1879
Schmitt filed a patent concerning ball-jointing
of all bisque limbs. Value Points: rare early
mignonette with patented elbow articulation, bare
feet, beautiful face.
