Description
9" (23 cm). Paper mache shoulderhead with painted
facial features and black painted hair, with wax-
dipped shell-covered body forming an elaborate
costume and decorated with a spray of early faux-
flowers, wooden limbs. The doll is attached to
self-base and preserved under dome. Condition:
good, facial finish original and well-preserved,
costume fragile. Comments: French, circa 1840.
Value Points: rare early doll with appealing
decorative headdress and bouquet, all preserved
under glass dome.
