Description
16" (40 cm). Pink tinted bisque socket-head
with sculpted hair, detailed modeling of
forelock curls, prominent ears, side-glancing
intaglio eyes of pale blue with large black
pupils, white eyedots, black and incised
eyeliner, accented nostrils and eye corners,
closed mouth with lips appearing slightly
parted, shaded detail of lips, double chin,
composition and wooden ball-jointed body,
nicely costumed. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 8035 Heubach (square)
Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach,
circa 1912. Value Points: superb sculpting of
the rare pensive-faced young boy, choice
bisque and painting. The doll is featured on
the cover of "Heubach Character Dolls and
Figurines" by Lydia Richter.
