Description
28" (71 cm). Bisque socket-head with elongated facial modeling, high dome, brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, thick brush stroked brows with feathered detail, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, Kestner composition and wooden ball- jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, body not original but appropriate. Marks: S 15 H 949 (head) Germany (body). Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. Value Points: beautiful bisque and modeling on the early large closed mouth doll, original body finish.
