Each 13" (33 cm). Each has hand-pressed sculpted bisque shoulderhead with sculpted brown hair, the girl with ribbon-tied braids and blue glass inset eyes, smiling expression; the boy with short curly hair and brown eyes, somber expression; each with original muslin body, bisque lower arms and legs, painted shoes and stockings. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: "Betsy" Martha Thompson (girl) M. Thompson 1959 (boy). Comments: pair of Victorian school children designed, created and costumed by the charter NIADA artist, Martha Thompson, circa 1959. Value Points: most appealing pair wear well-executed Victorian costumes.
