Bisque socket-head with angular features portraying adult man, narrow blue glass inset eyes encircled by brown eyeshadow and short lashes, brush stroked brows, chiseled shape of nose with defined bridge, closed mouth with impressed dimples at lip edges, pointed chin, black mohair wig, French composition body jointed at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Van Rozen France Depose. Comments: the French sculptor, more noted for his bronze sculptures of animals, created a rare series of hand-pressed bisque dolls, circa 1915. The models were deposed as the mark on this doll indicates, however few were made. Value Points: rare artist-signed French doll with unique sculpting, excellent paint and bisque, antique costume of gentleman includes top hat.
