Description
20" (51 cm). Pink tinted bisque socket-head,
intaglio dark blue painted with prominent
black pupils and white eyedots, black and
incised upper eyeliner, short stroke brows,
accented nostrils and eye corners, closed
mouth with white space between the shaded
lips, dimpled lip corners and chin, brunette
mohair wig, composition and wooden
ball-jointed body. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 6970 8 Germany.
Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1912.
Value Points: rare painted eye variation of
6970 model has superb quality of bisque and
sculpting, wearing antique woolen
gentleman's suit and hat. The doll appeared
in "Heubach Character Dolls and Figurines"
by Lydia Richter, page 40.
