Description
18" (46 cm). Pale bisque socket-head with very slender facial modeling portraying an adult, elongated thick throat, small blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, strong aquiline nose, closed mouth with primly set lips, brunette mohair wig, all wooden body with very thickened shape, jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees, metal hands, costumed as gentleman. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Huret 4 (head) Huret Brevete (torso). Comments: Huret, from the Elisa Prevost era, circa 1910, of whom Leo Claretie noted "was one of the persons who contributed to the development of the artistic dolls in 1907." Value Points: very rare model from the artistic era with original signed head and body, distinctive portrait facial features, unique and original signed body.
