Description
24" (61 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and
shoulderblades, large blue glass paperweight
inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecuts,
painted dark lashes, rose blushed eyeshadow,
brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented
nostrils and eye corners, shaded lips of "O"
shaped mouth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig
over cork pate, original kid bebe body with
slender shaping, scalloped rim collarette, kid
upper arms, bisque forearms, hinged upper legs,
wooden lower legs. Condition: generally
excellent, nursing rubber ball missing, lever
intact. Marks: Bru Jne 9 (head) Bru Jne (left
shoulder) No.11 (right shoulder). Comments: Leon
Casimir Bru, circa 1888, the model marketed as
Bebe Teteur. Value Points: very rare 24" size of
the Bebe Teteur is virtually unknown, this model
with excellent detail of sculpting, choice
bisque, beautiful detail of original body with
perfect bisque hands.
