Description
17" (43 cm). Pressed bisque socket head with
rounded facial modeling, pale blue glass enamel
inset eyes with spiral threading, lightly painted
lashes and feathered brows, accented nostrils and
eye corners, closed mouth with shaded and
detailed lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair fleecy
wig over cork pate, Schmitt composition and
wooden eight-loose-ball jointed body with flat-
cut derriere, straight wrists. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Bte SGDG 2 (head) Sch
(in shield, on derriere). Comments: Schmitt et
Fils, circa 1882. Value Points: very beautiful
delicately featured bebe has finest quality of
bisque, original body and body finish, early
cashmere gray dress with lace and maroon silk
trim appears original, undergarments, leather
shoes.
