Description
12" (30 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and
shoulderblades, brown glass enamel inset eyes,
dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted
lashes, rose blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and
multi-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye
corners, closed mouth, outlined lips, pierced
ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, kid
gusset jointed bebe body with bisque forearms and
separately sculpted fingers. Condition: generally
excellent, some finger restoration, few body
patches. Marks: Bru Jne 2 (head and
shoulderplates). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,
circa 1882. Value Points: wonderfully achieved
wistful expression on the little bebe, beautiful
bisque and painting, early costume may be
original, magenta silk dress with rich lace trim,
matching undergarments, rose stockings and
leather shoes signed "3", burgundy trimmed straw
bonnet.
