Description
22" x 16"(56 x 40 cm). A wooden framed open-front
stage has decorative columns and crest, faux-
marble painted base with tile-design floor and an
arrangement of shelves centered by a revolving
roulette wheel. Arranged upon the shelves is a
large assortment of miniature dolls, toys and
novelties, and the original wooden game sticks
are tied at the front. The toy has original
label "Loterie" with wording "a tout coup on
gagne" (a prize is won with every turn). French,
circa 1890, the popular Loterie toy, symbolizing
carnival fun, was offered in Paris Etrennes
catalogs for many years. This example is
preserved in fine unplayed condition.
