Description
18" (46 cm). Bisque socket head, dark blue glass
paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes with dot
highlights, brushstroked and multi-feathered
brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed
mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde
mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and
wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 8 (raised number). Comments:
attributed to Joanny, circa 1888. Value Points:
few dolls by this maker are found, this example
having very beautiful bisque with softly blushed
features, lovely antique rose silk dress and
cotton Charlotte bonnet, undergarments, shoes,
socks.
