Description
7"d. (18 cm) drum, 2" (5 cm) dolls. Nine wooden
dancing dolls, each with carved and painted
facial features and costumes, loosely jointed
legs, are posed upon a paper-covered drum,
supported by very delicate metal rods. When the
drum is lightly tapped the dolls "dance" about.
The various figures represent typical villagers,
and each is costumed differently with great
detail of painting. Included are four couples and
a violinist. Excellent condition. Circa 1880.
