Description
10" (25 cm). Bisque socket head with rounded
facial modeling, painted blue eyes with black
eyeliner and delicately painted lashes, arched
feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye
corners, closed mouth with accented lips, blonde
mohair wig, kid body with cinched waist, gusset-
jointing at hips and knees, bisque hands, nicely
costumed. Condition: generally excellent, thumb
and two fingers restored. Comments: Germany,
circa 1870, possibly Alt, Beck and Gottschalk,
the model is known as the "German Huret" for its
resemblance to that French doll. Value Points: a
rare and endearing little doll with artfully
painted features.
