Description
17" (43 cm). Paper mache socket head with flat- cut neck spring attachment, brown sculpted hair with forelock curls, painted facial features, brown eyes, white eyedots, black and brown upper eyeliner, closed mouth with pouty expression, unique body of muslin stretched over composition armature, spring-jointing at shoulders and side- hips, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Gunther Heine, whose firm operated in Bud Kosen, nearby to the Kathe Kruse firm, circa 1920. The firm appears to have operated for two or three years only. Value Points: rare model with wonderfully sculpted very expressive features, deeply modeled hair, original painted with blushed ear lobs, chubby cheeks and chin.
