Description
13" (33 cm). Bisque socket head with rounded
facial shape, large round brown glass googly
sleep eyes glancing to the right, dark eyeliner
encircles the eye sockets, curly fringed lashes,
angled feathered brows with ochre shading, pug
nose with accented nostrils, closed mouth with
watermelon-slice shaping, shaded lips, blushed
cheeks, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate,
composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body
with side-hip jointing, antique knit suit,
leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: F made in Germany 10 JDK 221 Ges Gesch.
Comments: Kestner, circa 1915, their googly model
was inspired by Rose O'Neill's Kewpie, which that
firm also produced. Value Points: wonderful size
and superb original condition, original wig,
pate, body, body finish, finest quality bisque
and painting.
