Description
11" (28 cm). Pressed bisque socket head, almond-
shaped blue glass enamel eyes, painted lashes,
feathered brows, accented eye corners and
nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line,
pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate,
Schmitt composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-
jointed body with flat-cut derriere, cupped
hands, white pique fitted dress with cutwork
trim, undergarments, leather ankle boots.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sch
(shield mark on head and body) 4/0 (head).
Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. Value
Points: the very rare size bebe is complemented
by exceptional quality of modeling and bisque,
most endearing expression, original signed body,
antique costume may be original.
