Description
12" (30 cm). Each has composition socket-head, sleep eyes, real lashes, painted lower lashes, open mouth, five-piece toddler body. The five boy dolls have side-parted human hair; the girl has blonde mohair curly wig. Good condition overall, eyes faded, some retouch on facial complexion. Marks: Madame Alexander (dolls and costumes). The five boys wear romper suits with white dotted Swiss attached skirts (three yellow, one green, one pink), shoes and socks. The girl wears blue dotted Swiss dress with pale blue rayon sash, long slip, shoes and socks. The rare dolls were commissioned from the Alexander firm to be shown at a University of California exhibition "Demonstration of Human Heredity" at the Hall of Science in the 1939 World’s Fair.
