24" (61 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed molded face and features, painted complexion and features, shaded blue eyes, white eye dots, thick dark upper eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, closed mouth with row of painted teeth, brunette human hair wig, muslin stitch-jointed body with oil-painted lower arms and legs, bare feet, antique dress, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Rollinson red stamp on back torso). Comments: Gertrude Rollinson, inventor and patent holder of the distinctive cloth doll, produced by the Utley company of Holyoke, Massachusetts, circa 1920. Value Points: the very rarely-found doll, made for a few years only in small production, is seldom located today; this example in especially nice state of preservation.
