Description
Heavy metal framed stove in square boxy
shape has cast iron stove top with six burners,
very large oven door framed with embossed
nickel-plating and centered by a large sturdy
nickel handle and the insignia "Jersey". There
are hinged grill doors and grate door with
elaborate nickel-plating designs and the
words "Van Evera Co. Chicago". There is a
working damper and tin ash bin. Above the
range is a very elaborate arrangement of
nickel-plated bracket supporting a curved door
warming oven and centering the chimney
cover that has an artful nickel-plated design of
the Jersey cow. The original tinplate chimney
is intact. American, circa 1915, Van Evera Co.
Chicago. The construction details of the stove
are nearly identical to #139, although each
bear different manufacturer¶s names.28"H.
