Description
Black cast iron stove has a circular top that revolves from gear crank at side (handle missing), five cast-iron framed holes (one fitted with original handled griddle, other pots missing), double front opening firewood doors, one side-opening door, large hearth with slide-out hearth plate, oval chimney hole at the back. The stove originally stood taller (two front legs and part of back leg missing). American, circa 1840, a full-size version of the revolving or "rotary cooking stove" was patented by Henry M. Stanley of Poultney, Vermont in 1832. 7 1/2"W. 12"D.
