Description
8" (20 cm.) All-carved wooden doll with two-part head, black painted complexion and hair, closed mouth with row of teeth, wooden spring-jointed body, wearing original costume comprising purple felt coat, checkered pants, yellow vest and top hat. Condition: generally excellent, original finish is well preserved, costume a bit dusty. Schoenhut, circa 1915, the circus performer was marketed as "Black Dude".
