Description
6" (15 cm). Of thick paste porcelain with slightly tinted complexion, the shoulderplate doll has long black hair arranged in center-part with curls cascading onto her shoulders, blue painted eyes, red and black eyeliner, black brows, accented nostrils and closed mouth. Her carved wooden body has defined waist, elongated torso, dowel jointing at shoulders and hips, and dowel-jointed porcelain lower arms and legs with orange painted slippers. There is a small chip at back edge of the shoulderplate. Germany, circa 1850. From the Collection of Mildred Seeley.
