Description
16" (40 cm). The fashion lady has pressed bisque swivel head with full cheeks, slightly elongated throat, on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig in elaborate original coiffure with rolls and braids, and her kid fashion body with slender proportions, tiny waist, shapely derriere, gusset-jointed elbows, hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers (one finger worn away). She wears an elegant blue woolen suit with black velvet trim and silk covered buttons, black skirt, undergarments, leather shoes. The doll is marked _L. Depose D._ on her back shoulder plate. Attributed to Louis Doleac. Circa 1865.
