Description
The bone-handled matching fans, each with hand-
painted silk blades, are edged in gold with
lavish white or blue fringe. Presented in
original mandolin-shaped green paper box. The
fans were designed for a fireside tete-a-tete,
protecting the face against excess fireplace
heat. Existing examples of matched pair fans are
virtually impossible to find. 3 1/2"L. Circa 1865
