Description
11" (28 cm). Having bisque swivel head on kid-
edged bisque shoulder plate, slender facial
modeling, pale gray glass enamel inset eyes, dark
eyeliner encircles the eye socket, feathered
lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye
corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced
ears, and blonde mohair wig in superbly arranged
elaborate coiffure with interwoven ribbons, cork
pate. The body is original very firmly stuffed
muslin with shapely torso, and bisque arms from
above the elbow, cupped fingers with separate
thumbs. The doll wears her original costume that
is stitched to her body for superb fit, with fine
sheer muslin fabric trimmed with lace and magenta
ribbons and flowers, undergarments, stockings,
shoes, with original _diamond_ dangle earrings,
cross, and bracelet. Incised _2/0_. Circa 1868.
