Description
17" (43 cm). Having a very pale pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, dark cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted eyeliner and delicate lashes, lightly arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips and unpierced ears. Her original white/blonde mohair wig is arranged in Antoinette style with elaborately arranged coiled braid at the back from which tumbles two long curls. The doll has French kid fashion body with shapely torso, padded bosom, gusset jointing at hips, knees and elbows, separately stitched fingers. She wears her original 18th century style peach and bronze green silk gown with handmade lace details and metallic thread, undergarments, leather slippers and her original muslin chemise that has never been removed. The doll is presented in her original wooden framed glass-side cabinet with gilded carvings which has preserved the doll, costume and wig in its pristine original state. Barrois, circa 1865.
