Description
17" (43 cm). Having bisque shoulderhead with rounded facial modeling, very plump cheeks and chin, sculpted eye sockets with heavy eyelids, painted blue eyes with shaded outline of irises and glazed highlights on lower eyes, black upper glancing pupils, thick black upper eyeliner, delicately painted lower eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips, blushed cheeks and chin, unpierced ears, lambswool wig over cork pate. The doll has all wooden fully articulated body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. She is wearing early dimity cotton dress with mauve leaf pattern, cording and pleating at bodice, double ruffled sleeves over white blouse, undergarments, leather slippers. The body is stamped _Huret, 34 Boul. Haussman, Paris_. There is some paint rubbing on original body finish. Adelaide Calixte Huret, circa 1860.
